3rd ICCS 2027 NRC-Meeting - Poster

National Research Coordinators (NRC) Meeting in Lisbon (July)

In July 2025, National Research Coordinators (NRC) from over 20 countries participating in the ICCS project gathered for a five-day working meeting in Lisbon, Portugal. Members of the German study team also took part. The meeting was organised by the ICCS International Study Team at the University of Bath, IEA International and IAVE Portugal.

The meeting marked an important milestone in the preparation for ICCS 2027, coordinating the study’s content and further developing its concept. Particular focus was placed on revising and coordinating the questions to be used in the field trial. Working in small groups, the participants discussed the content and wording of the questions, presenting their findings in plenary sessions.

The field trial is an important step in the multi-year ICCS process. Its purpose is to verify that the planned questions for the 2027 main survey, including those in the knowledge test and questionnaires, are comprehensible, comparable and meaningful in all participating countries. Based on the results, a final decision will be made on which tasks and questions will be used internationally in the 2027 ICCS main survey. The field trial in Germany is scheduled to take place in spring 2026.
