IEA ICCS 2027

ICCS field trial has begun

Since the end of January 2026, surveys have been conducted at schools in three federal states as part of the ICCS field trial. The surveys are being carried out by trained test administrators from IEA Hamburg and are partly supervised by staff from the ICCS national study centre.

After comprehensive training by the IEA Hamburg, the test administrators began their fieldwork at the end of January 2026. Test administrators are deployed to schools to conduct the field trial: they introduce the survey, supervise the test session and are available to answer general questions from students and school staff. Surveys as part of the ICCS field trial will be conducted in a total of 25 schools until mid-February 2026. Two classes per school will participate, helping to check the questions and test tasks for comprehensibility and meaningfulness, as well as testing organisational procedures for the main survey. Members of the ICCS team from Münster will accompany the test administrators at the schools on a random basis to gain an impression of the surveys on site and to ensure the quality of their implementation.

The entire ICCS team from Münster and Duisburg-Essen would like to express their sincere thanks to the participating students, teachers, school coordinators, school administrators, and test administrators for their valuable cooperation in the ICCS field test 2026.
