In the run-up to this year’s main conference of the Gesellschaft für Politikdidaktik und politische Jugend- und Erwachsenenbildung (Association for Civic Education Didactics and Civic Youth and Adult Education, GPJE) in Vienna, a two-day Early Career Researchers conference (ECR conference) took place. Annika Francke from the ICCS 2027 team in Münster gave a five-minute pitch at the conference to present her research project on the topic of ‘Cooperation between schools and non-school actors in the context of civic and citizenship education’: Using a spatial sociological theoretical framework and ICCS 2022 data from North Rhine-Westphalia as well as regional data from the NRW State Database, Annika Francke explored what forms of cooperation between schools and non-school actors on political, social and cultural topics take place and what characteristics make these collaborations more likely. Following the presentation, initial findings and prospects for further research were discussed in a small group.
